Try JB Lian Ho Complex, I hv seen some1 bring in and out in 1 of the shop. I dont know which 1 but its there. Sold quite openly as the shopkeeper was explaining the function of 2 models. 1 is definately DreamBox and the other I am not sure but look like a typical clone that was around in Sg. Good luck.
Forgot, I over heard he was saying MYR400 but not sure for which box.

Yes you can buy 1 and use in Sg provided you have an Astro Dish and install on the roof of your HDB.... hahaha......
Sorry, I stay low floor and hv not try it in HDB.....

Ya, d 1 at Taman Sentosa. Its almost PnP cos d dish will hv to face a certain direction and angle to get good signal reception. Also need to plugin the internet to update the latest keys.
My dish is quite big 3'. Get the latest model that is only 12" active LNB which also can be mounted onto vehicles. So when BPL is on, put the small dish out in the HDB windows, after watching, keep it. Just a SUGGESTION, dont quote me. Sold in the same shop. Good hint is the dish are display in the shop too.
SG source? I dont know, I hv not receive any pamphlets yet in my HDB.....mmmmm.... i wonder why???????Comment

Hi Taiko, I am very very new. Recently I just move into new house in Malacca and my dad straightaway call a guy from China to fix a big dish (about 180cm) to watch china, hongkong and taiwan satelite. Its about 80++ channels. It costs RM1k.
I wanted to know If i want to buy dreambox, can i fix it myself? using astro dish ??Comment

Ans to both your post.
1) With the same LNB/Dish ( best install a Pan-tilt), you can watch Astro and your Father's Phoenix138.
2) Astro-ChinaBox comes with 18mths CS support. After 18months, you may need newer or better box liao. May b also got Phoenix 138 and Astro together and cheaper. (Astro and Phoenix 138 together in 1box, the box now cost RMB1000 can b bot in SZ or GZ.) But many trouble switching btn Astro and Phoenix. and box hanged very often.
As my atap house is at NE of Sg, here I can see Malaysian cars moving along the Pasir Gudang expressway, to recve Astro and Phoenix is no problem in Sg. Problem is putting out and hide the F........g DISH. (Flashing dish).
Also avlb are the flat-Dish that looks like Solarpanel. These flat dish hv many limitations, so dont buy now until they improve more.

I am here to share that DM500s can recvd Astro with LNB 9500 or a universal LNB. Jpg of the box and dish is in earlier post here for your reference.
If you progress from here, DM500s can receive Phoenix 138 too. You watch HongKong series LIVE. But you need a BIG dish.
I hv not try IndoSat yet. If any Bros hv, pls share your experiences. I am here to learn too.

Phoenix 138 Dish Position from Sg is Dish face east and tilt abt 45 to 50 degrees upward to sky.
Astro: Dish Position from Sg is Dish face West and tilt abt 70 to 80 degress upward to sky.
The above is good enough for normal reception. If you want precise positioning, for crackos, visit
dish alignment .com or google for it.
Personally, I find not much diiference with 1 or 2 degrees off. So pls dont PM for EXACT POSITION of dish. We are at the equator and nearest to the satellite. We hv very strong signal.
