hi

is there anyway to control the dreambox 500c from the pc via network?...things the remote can do...search channles, set up channel lists, restart cam....basically it`s easier to use the pc for tuning this box than the silly remote....i guess alot of it would be editing config.files maybe?..

i just wonered if there was away to set the box up over the network.

also....second question.....how can i get `whats on the tv` onto my `pc screen`..again via network....i can open in explorer and have control over `basic functions`(use message...that was fun...my kids freaked out when i sent a message telling them to be quiet or the box would shut down!) but when i click on the vpid it only opens in winamp with a isp address but no video/sound....vlc?...tried this but again nothing?....
do i need to `use port forwarding` on the router?....

Just connect using IE or firefox to the ip that your dreambox is connected to and login using the same login details as the ftp.

Have a look through the options and you'll be able to to find one that activates the remote, and also one that shows you the channel is currently showing as well
