does anyone have any sensible suggestions or thoughts on how we can scan for setanta?

I didn't start this thread for people just to post asking for frequencys - you can start your own threads for that - I thought it might be possible to have a serious conversation on why we don't get setanta on scanning, by any means.

because sometimes VM change the transponders around, and some frequencies are not available in some cables.xml files which are used when you set the receiver to scan.
I can get hold of a set of frequencies for you to try manually, or you can right click on your own cables.xml file, and chose edit, and have a go at making your own, You will get some self satisfaction in doing this, and once you got all the frequencies sorted , you will be aable to do a scan in about 3-4 mins max.

cheers mate, thats a great idea, where do I find the cables.xml on dk1.1? I'm used to my old neutrino image and have no idea where stuff is with the enigma image.

Is it just a case of replicating another entry in the cables.xml but modifying it to include the frequency i think setanta is on (386)?

I have now picked up the missing Setanta Channels with a manual scan!!
I can confirm that they are all on 386 as you thought.
The reason that I could not pick them up with an auto scan is that 386 is not in my cables file. I also had a look in the bruteforce channel list. It was not in the bruteforce section but is in the "NTL MMDS Bruteforce" section.
Sorry I cannot help out you out with an enigma image as I have not got one to look at.

              Wicked!

I'll get right on with an mmds scan.

If I cant get it, any chance of your neutrino format file? and i'll convert it to enigma

                It works!

There's your solution people: do a ntl mmds bruteforce scan.

                Thanks to stoneringers!

This worked for me, my brother and 2 friends.
                    1. Menu, Setup, Service searching, Manual transponder scan.
                    2. Enter frequency 00386 mhz.
                    3. Check INV box
                    4. Check Network Search box.
                    5. Start Scan
                    6. Hey Presto!
                    7. WHAM!
                    8. BAM!
                    9. Thank You, Man!

the above didn't work for us, that was the whole point of this thread.

And the frequency of 00386 is dependent on where you live - that is the frequency for part of staffs.
