DM500 Freezing issues on cable

Hello, just want to try and find out what causes the channels to freeze periodically?

Only seems to happen when something interesting is on :P

Sky sports is the only one people have probs with. This is due to signal strength. A variable attenuator can sort that out.

Ahh kk, probably my box being crap, usually happens later in the day when more people are at home I guess. Happens with all channels too for me.

What about the same thing only instead of freezing it actually goes black for a few secs.. like someone behind you is turning the TV channel over then back to your scart channel very quickly

I read on wiki about softcams and stuff and it said about providers purposly overloading signal or something to cause a small interuptions.. I get these everyday about 3 times an hour, and when I only switch my box on I happens repeatly for about 1 minute

My DM500c is not an offical DM500, its an OEM I think,... also a guy told me once that pulling a certain pin out of your SCART lead can stop it as that pin carriers a small charge that auto changes the channel when power on that equipment its connected to and thats what makes it blink constantly so annoying

Anyone else get that or is just maybe something on my side like a crap box

Me and my brother both have d500. sky sports 1 and sky action are the channels that freeze and pixellate for us. happens more at weekend. although i will say that since we've lost setanta, both channels are working perfectly. but this does not deter me from my mission to regain control of setanta
