Should your DM500 remote fail on you, you could just go out and order a new piece. But you can try opening it up and give it a quick wipe down in case it might still be alive. These are fairly simple steps so you might want to give it a try. Here are the tools you need,
a)A set of precision screwdriver
b)A contact cleaner
c)Cotton swab or cloth

1. Remove the single screw that is hidden behind the sticker in the battery compartment.

2. Carefully Pry open the remote using a flat head driver . There are 3 notches on each side .

3. Once open, spray contact cleaner on the PCB board, including the battery connectors.

4. Use a cotton swab or cloth to wipe dry the liquid cleaner

5. Fix back the remote
There you go. If the remote still fails to function, its time to get a new one. Cheers..
