adding a addon panel to a img

i am searching for a howto or some help to add a addon panel in a cdk compiled img

i have seen some source codes but do not understand it very wel
genini and nemisis are 2 of them

is there some one who can help me with this?
is there a howto somewhere on the web to be found ?
