    Spare Tuner???

    Hi,

Does anyone have or know of where I can get a spare tuner for the Nokia Dbox (2 chip) from. The connecter that takes the cable feed in has broken off on the one I have.

Or if anyone has a unit for spares or repairs.

    Thanks

The connector is easily soldered on if you have experience in soldering. failing that you could alway buy a new one and solder that in yourself. You can purchase them from here..........................

You will do more soldering putting new one on, than fixing.
Mine came off completely, used a 100w to fix the barrel back to the tuner casing, then a fine point (15w) to re-attach the wire to the centre pin. Its last 3yrs without problems.
I brought a spare, but decided was worth trying to fix 1st.

It looks to have broken off from the board and I am not sure where to solder it too. Can someone provide me of an image of the tuner so I can copy.

          Thanks Again

Here is a link to a guide about repairing NOKIA DBOX2 Tuners, the SAGEM DBOX tuner is different. Its a pdf file so you will need adobe installed to view it.

All credits for the guide go to PT-1, thanks mate.

Hope this helps you out with repairing the tuner.
