Sagem D-box problems !!

Hi guys, i've got a eurovox v and manually updated the codes but now i've put in the new software so hopefully prob solved! but a pal of mine has an old sagem dbox , his channels went down so i thought ok i'll help my mate out and got hold of the codes for the day , printed off how to access the dbox files and off i went...... well!!!
the problem started when i pressed the blue button, it didn't have the tuxbox commander thing i was expecting to see, it was just a general features screen! showing, system menu, epg reset, set my location, file manager
not too sure how i managed it but i eventually got into the screen that allowed me to manually input the codes but when i put in the new code there was not enough numbers/letters to fill the required spaces i seemed to be 2 short ! ( sorry for being a bit vague )
Can anyone offer any advice as to where i'm going wrong?
I would have a stab at putting new software in but not sure if i'd have the correct cables, i've only got a 9 pin cable from my laptop ( it fits the eurovox ) AND its not my box i wouldn't really want to f**k it up!

Sounds like you've overwritten the wrong digits. The c***s start with a letter, then 4 digits, then 2 digits and then a string of digits. You must not write over the 2 digits that are separate - just write over the string of digits that follow the 2 separate digits.

Thanks misguided, i think what i've done wrong is i've started entering the code to early i.e after the 5A 01 part i've input the code instead of 5A 01 00 and the the code, would this make sense??

Bouquets are basically just folders. You name them whatever you want ie: Films. Sport, childrens etc etc, then you put all the channels you want into each bouquet you made. Saves you trolling through 300 chanels looking for everyones favorite QVC....

btw...regarding the keys, doesnt matter a toss, just put them in again by editing over the old key.
