just lost all channels, has keys changed again?

    Hi, all,
i have lost all ch, including FTA. Box has only been working for a day.
    I a using the Lincsat beta 7.25-full.
Senario: the box froze, unable to change ch, rebooted, screen said
    no ch found. scan.
    Any ideas?

you are right, the FTA chs should still be there

I will ftp it to see if the services file is still in the Zapit folder and report back. Either that or the image has got currupted.

        channels now back

not sure how i did it mind.
i deleted the services file in the zapit folder, then restored a copy i had saved. i got some channels back, enabled AU with evocamd, restarted EMU, then rebooted. Now have all channels.
Not sure why the box lost the channels in the first place.
Does anyone know anything about the "lincsat beta 7.25-full" image.

When your boxes are working perfectly why not backup the image and store it safely also your services files. So much easy when it goes tits up

                Just a thought

what would be the point in backing up the image?

Hi, m8, i am sure most people would have the image they are using stored, anyway. so they can reflash if things go tits-up.
Or are you talking about something totally different?
I always have a copy of my services file on my pc, because i need to delete all those waste -of-space channels that are on there. and of course the xxx chs.

save the img once u have added all the necessary files and when u've sorted ur bouquets, etc etc......saving it then will give u an identical copy of the image with all the changes u made....saves u having to start again with the basic img again...

...and therein lies the danger, even for guys who have been at it on almost a daily basis for nearly 5 years on dbox2. I always 'trim' my services like you do, to remove all the dross. Then patch the bouquets.xml with any changed Sid / TSid data.

Some heavyish re-arranging of the channels late last week here in Pure by virgin. I did a bad copy/paste to the services file and totally missed one line- a closing xml </transponder> tag. Result? No services!

That's how easy it is to demolish your TV for the night, LOL! Hint: If you've edited your services and/or bouquets files manually, and it all goes tits-up like this- just 'Open' the files with IE7 browser. If it stops short of reading the whole file right down to the bottom, then it's corrupted, so neutrino cannot read it into dbox memory.

But IE7 will also report what line the bug occurs in and give you a very good clue on what the syntax error is, so you fix it easily. It only takes one little missing < or a > or a space where one doesn't belong- and whoosh! Your file is fubarred...

                        Cheers- AL
