NEWBIE NEEDING HELP

ok im sure loads have asked this before but i need help like a step by step guide on flashing a dbox my first questions are:

how to tell if my dbox is 1x chipset or 2x ?

i herd that sagem is 1x and nokia is 2x but how do i no if my dbox is a nokia or sagem on the front its says: dbox mutimedia terminal by nokia so im guessing its nokia am i correct ?


a guy that normally does it told me he does it by connecting it to his router by ethernet cable then going into the dbox settigns to find its ip address and then go to his computer and go to his network settings and set it up as a new device and enter its ip address after that im clueless please help i apricate any reply

Has you have a nokia box it will be 2x as all nokias are.
There is a program in the downloads sectioon called chip check you can use this to find what chip you have. Like i said before all nokias are 2x.

thanks people so now i no my dbox is 2x chipset when i plug the box into the mains its stook on the screen with all the righting how do i get out of this so i can put an image on it i carnt do nothing with it thanks

The best place to start is have a read off this guide also there is a program included that you will need to connect your pc to dbox

Also you will need to get a xover cable to connect your pc to your dbox.

IFA wont let you flash a Dbox with the wrong type of image anyway.

Use IFA ( Image Flashing Assistant) that flashes your box from bootup - so theres no need to wait for it to start up.
