    Sagem Dbox2

Still having trouble updating the nagra7 files!

Have connected a new crossover lead just in case but still getting the following message:

    Status: Connecting to 192.168.2.24:21...
    Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server

I've noticed that my I.P. address, etc., on my Dbox disappear, but I re-entered them by disabling then enabling the DHCP.

I've tried 10T-base, 10T-base full duplex and autosense.

    computer I.P. 192.168.2.23
    box I.P. 192.168.2.24
both have the same subnet mask

any ideas' what could be causing the timeout

Could it be something to do with one of my settings(minor or major), computer, network card, etc., etc......

I had the same problem as you have, all i did was leave the box for DHCP un-ticked and entered an IP address that was one away from my pc IP addy,i was then able to conenct my pc to my box.
Hope it works for you too.

Should I set the DNS server and default gateway?

No Need to setup DNS or Default Gateway if using cross over ethernet cable or data switch / hub. Just make sure your machine is in the same network as dbox.

change the dbox2 ip to 192.168.0.8
            and the pc to 192.168.0.7
disable firewalls then plug the lead in last

Have tried as you suggested but still getting a time out message!

Could it be one of the minor settings in the ftp program?
Should I try turning the DHCP off?

I always turn dhcp off and give both the box and my pc static addresses.

                            At long last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only problem now is I can't find the keys folder there doesn't appear to be one!

                            Have checked all folders.

Do I have to create this folder and if so how and where?
