yep unless ur using the hyperterminal method to flash

yes i was using the hypoterminal way but its instructions are for chorus so im a bit puzzled

blimey i see you are only getting tit bits of info here an not being walked through..

So lets recap, you have a Nokia dbox2 you live in the UK and have a null modem cable, you need to flash a new image onto the box but are unsure which image to use but have been advised of one.

So we need to talk you though flashing your dbox2 with an image using a null modem cable and putting the roms on. To put the roms on you will need a crossover cable and to read this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...x-noobs-15134/ when you get to that point

no just follow the instructions 1 command quotes chorus 800000 but thats ok

unless u have an ethernet - xover unless u use a router

if u got a router just use a normal network (ethernet) cable and ifa - forget about the null modem

so do i just attach the ethnet cable from the pc to the box or use an extra ethnet cable from router to box? and which image to i need to flash the box

i like yourself was lost at 1st buh with the help of these brilliant ppl i managed to do it... i understand what your saying becasue i was the same.. its hard to understand at 1st so il try helping you..

download the ifa (flashing assistant)
get a image (commando 10)
have your null modem cable and cross over cable.. dnt put your dbox2 on make sure its off.
open ifa...browse to the image select tht and the network card and click yes to the null modem cabel. put in you cross over cable 2. click ok and a message will pop up saying stuff.. click ok!!! a new box will apear grey box in the middle.. then switch your dbox2 on!! you should c a black image and 2 images next 2each other .. it might say error just keep doing it. i gt error sign 3 times then it wrkd the 4th.. the grey bar was slowly growing green.. then it finishd was well happy

to set up the ftp.. considerably easy 2..
'filezilla' like ppl have mentiond.. google it free download.
someone has a guide on ere well easy to follow...

for me rember not to put you duplex speed to 10 wouldnt work for me.. leave tht alone.jst change the ip address on both dbox2 and pc. also when doing tht leave the dbox2 on...and go 2 reboot through the dbox2.. once rebooted the ip address will stay in the box.obviously keep the cross over cable in.. take off you firewall..
go to filezille connect should be around top left corner.. put in the details like account..if you put the commando image then the paswsord will be 'commando'
click conect and all dun... easy as tht.. if iv gone rong somewhr sry corerect me if am rng.. hope i helpd
