lost the var folder on my dbox2

Hi All
I dont know how, but i managed to delete the var folder on my dbox2 and i do not have a copy, how can i restore the var folder please, do i flash the box and will that restore it?, also doses it have to appear in a certain folder order?

I cannot get any menu up from the box , therefor i cannot transfer files using ftp anymore, I tried to flash with a crossover serial cable and hellenberg flash assistant, the box does not respond to file download after switch off-on,
any ideas m8
