    image without bootloader

    hi all
    i am restoring my dbox2 using hyperlink and null modem (as per guide, it says download the image without bootloader, my question is is the a file in downloads that has an image without bootloader or how do i remove the bootloader
    HELP please

    what you need to m8 is:

    find the IP of the box
    FTP your image to var/tmp
    then on your box, press dbox->services->image flash/backup->expert functions-> flash without bootloader-> and then select the image from the next screen..

      i cannot do that because my remote will not bring up any menus, so i cannot set the ftp. any ideas?

          so what do you have... are you using a laptop or PC.. XP or Vista

            what you need is this
            1) Digital Kaos - Downloads - Image Flashing assistant

            2) your chosen image

            a null modem cable connected to your box and laptop/pc.. have the box switched off at the mains install the above prog.. select the image location and click on next THEN switch the box on and hey presto after several minutes your done...

              i have tried that but the flashing assistant just hangs, ihave done this procedure before but this time it does not respond, the problem started when i deleted var in the box by mistake, is there another way i can sort this out please
              using winxp

                IFA will work mate although it may take a few attempts, i find just using IFA with jus a crossover cable the most consitent way to get IFA to flash easily.
