    no connection for fxp ?

    hi folks
i managed to flash my dbox with commando 10.
"great image" using hallenberg IFA and that went good.
    i only have FTA chanls.
now iam into the flashFXP but it wont connect to the box via crossover cable. why wont it connect ?
viewing the box network settings the DHCP is on but there is no IP addy for the box? its greyd out. if i turn the dhcp off i can get into the IP box to change the addy via remotecontroll.
do i do this? or ?

is it infront of me and i just dont see it ?
a little advice is required please

turn off the dhcp, put in ip addy of box, say you have set your pc network card to 192.168.1.99 , then set your box one more,to 192.168.1.100. exit menu, press red button to save and reboot your box. reconnect with flashxp after box has fully booted back up

tutorial is right, it means to set your network card 1 below the ip address you select for your dbox

Put your ip in your dbox as 192.168.0.24/subnet 255.255.255.0
Then press on start/reset network now after it as restarted then test it by pressing test network now it will say reachable (ping)

Then go to your pc network set to 192.168.0.23/subnet 255.255.255.0

Then set your ftp program to the same as your dbox.

Have you turned off your firewalls? has this will stop you from connecting.
Did you set your username to root and password to commando?
Are you using a xover cable?

                    try this

                    Hi,
these settings always work for me:
I use the following settings on PC. open network connections ? properties - internet protocol ? properties and change to the following:

                    IP ADDRESS ? 192.168.1.1
                    SUBNET MASK - 255.255.255.0
                    DEFAULT GATEWAY - 192.168.1.1
                    PREFERED DNS SERVER - 192.168.1.1

I use the following settings on dbox2. open settings ? network and change to the following:

                    IP ADDRESS - 192.168.1.7
                    SUBNET MASK - 255.255.255.0
                    DEFAULT GATEWAY - 192.168.1.6
                    DNS SERVER - 192.168.1.1

Connect your dbox to your pc with a crossover rj45 cable

Connect to the dbox with flash fxp

                    Ip address? 192.168.1.7

the name is root and password ( what ever the commando pw is)

if you have set your network correctly you should see your dbox files in the ftp window.
                    DHCP= OFF

                    Hopes this helps.

when you set ip addy you need to save your settings by oressing the red button. cant remember whether or not its on that menu page or the page after exiting network settings.
Your keys, click on var folder, click on th keys folder. if sending over only the roms 10 and rom 11, then delete all the files which have 7 after them

                        have a look here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...134/#post79466

if the ipaddy wont stay on the dbox after you have pressed - Start/Restart Network Now - the the img may have gone read-only....if this is so u won't be able to transfer files...if so, best to reflash the img....img into /tmp folder and use remote and flash thru box commands
