    hard drive

    hi all
    i`ve sent for the ide interface plus mounting kit for my dbox, am i restricted to a certain size drive? i would like 500 gig

    you're limited by the HDD power consumption. The IDE interface on-board power can only cope with the 160Gb drives, otherwise you'll need to rig up a separate power supply. If you can squeeze in an addition switch mode powersupply in the box, you could theoretically feed this off of the mains input and from the 'outside' it will look as if you've got 'one box' but alternatively you'd need to feed in the power from an external power supply

      I have received and fitted it, but there isn't any power going to hdd( checked with multimeter) so disk is not spinning up. Can anyone help!!??

        I myself had had difficulties with the interface, but it wasn't power, but rather send/receive data. I ended up sending the box with the interface back to the DVB Shop, and they needed to clean the connector, and reflow the solder on the mother board with a heat gun to get it to work.

        I suspect (if your box is like mine) then it's pretty mucky inside, so may have continuity issues on the mother board. I'd suggest double checking first you have everything connected correctly (ref: Nokia IDE Interface fitting in instructions)
        and also have the appropriate image installed (I used Command 10c with the IDE drivers activated, which you can download from the download section on this site)
