    flashing wit vista

    hi all
    i have a dbox 2 that need's flashing and will be doing it on a laptop any1 have any nubbie guides for flashing a dbox with vista...this is the 1st time i am flashing a dbox and am a bit worried about doing it

      welcome to dk have a good read in the dbox forum check and out downloads,then get back to us im not a dbox man so one of the other peeps will get back to u be patient u will get it sorted im sure, keep checking your post for replies not many on line at the mo

          It's a piece of piss once you get the hang of it.

          Being a newbie myself I can show you the ropes but I'm having trouble after flashing the image as can be seen in this thread http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...lashing-30554/. I'd wait for my thread to be answered before you do anything because your Dbox 2 won't work properly otherwise.

          To FTP an image or files over to your Dbox2 you need :

          A FTP program this 1 is free and easy to use FTP Client Software - Compare and download free FTP Programs the right hand side 1
          1 Ethernet Cable then watch this video [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YydbfH5wbU&feature=related]YouTube - Flashing a dbox via ftp[/ame]

          I got locked out of my Dbox 2 so I had to use Image Flash Assistant https://www.ssl-id.de/hallenberg.com...tent=downloads which requires a Null Modem to USB cable aka an RS 232 cable or If your PC has a Null modem port a normal Null modem cable like so debug | Uwe Hermann then watch this video [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-1hmqxmw4c]YouTube - dbox2 image flash assistant[/ame]

                  Just to add to the above. It's not a straight ethernet you need to ftp it's a crossover cable. and you don't need a null modem to flash with IFA. A crossover cable can be used alone for that.

                          hi all,i just flashed the dbox with the Commando 10x1 img using ifa which was eazy to my suprise and have excuted a scan and found 200+channels but can only see fta i ave rebooted left on ssp1 for 30mins and rebooted and still only fta.i have read in other threads i need to ftp my old emus or somethink any1 able to clear this up for me because i never saved anythink from the old img.....thanks

                              if there isnt already an emu installed you will need to install one aswell ftping keys and roms over m8

                                      where do i get these files from and is there a password for the ftp as i ave only ever used it once before and that was for a game server.?
