where do i start.....?

i need help!
sorry now, i'm new to this forum and also new to this whole dbox side of life and pulling my hair out for the last 2 days and starting to realise that i'm in waaaayyy over my head here!!

ok, here's where i'm at:
bought a sagem dbox2 from germany, had some german image flashed onto (petzi?)so i flashed sportster 2 on instead.. which i'm not sure whether or not was the right thing to do.. i'm searching for channels but with no luck so i'm obviously missing a bunch of steps here...
been searching this forum for help but to be honest, no one seems to be at my novice level.............
i need your help! desperately!
first of all, what image should i use? (i'm in ireland, if that makes a difference)
and what do i do after flashing....?

what part north/south?

provider nt*l or cho*rus?

true cable or mmds?

u will need to scan for ur area therefore need a suitable cable.xml file depending on ur provider

can anyone help me getting started with a dbox2?
wich steps do i take getting this box started?
Its a box i got from a friend he used to watch al channels in the neterlands but gave some problems later.
It has a version nummer v1.7 kalibo on it/enigma/haupAP3
