    how to make vlc run in background

    hi can anyone help me set vlc player to run in the background so i dont have to start it up everytime i want to stream something.

    Maybe try this....

    You can run VLC as a service under windows by following what's outlined in this link [vlc] Re: vlc 0.7.0 as a Windows Service

      tried this an cmd.exe, says 'the system cannot find the path specified, any other ideas i would be very grateful.

        You can place a shortcut to VLC in your startup folder under windows, not an ideal way to achieve what you want to do but it will work. The startup folder is used to load / run any program contained within it when windows loads.
