DBOX 2 Newby

Hello all

Just introducing myself, relative newby to all this - have just inherited a dbox2 which seems to need a new image to kick it back into life - any push in the right direction will be greatly appreciated :-)

hi mate, jus done exactly the same with my old box, read thru a few posts here, loaded with commando 10 img thru ftp the installed the magic files now works a treat..all the info's here ur jus gonna have to do a bit of leg work..took me bout 3 days to suss it all out but got there in the end!!

Hi Stewy I read the sticky about transferring the image with null modem cable there doesnt seem to be a sticky for doing it with ftp. I can ftp to my box but where do i place the image after that? any help appreciated .

Thanks have transferred it over, just to check
main menu-service-image upgrade-expert functions-write whole image-file selector...... and my new image shows there.... just click ok???

Sorry before I got your reply I went for the first option, image flashed ok but now on reboot i get stuck at bitte boxentyp and it lists nokia sagem philips??? any ideas... i should learn to be more patient

you probably need to re flash with IFA now mate.

ok I get a lot of german menu's and i assume its some kind of options and the way to get through them is with the red green yellow and blue buttons..... anyway i dont know what i did but ftp'd back again and did as plasterer said rebooted and changed to english and seems to be ok now..

The reason why i flashed it in the first place was on the service scan only astra 19.2 was showing where as i wanted to scan on astra 28. Is it possible to change this to 28 as i dont see it in the options???
