The stickies point you towards flashing with IFA etc, which is a bit drastic- and only a last resort, when faced with Kein System or similar non-booting disaster.

Having un-zipped or un-rarred your image, double-check it's the correct format for your box- 1x or 2x chip. If you have a Nokia, it will be a 2x - but a Sagem could be either. Trip up here, and you WILL be reading the Stickies, LOL!

You image should be exactly 8,257,356 bytes in size and is a Flash w/o Bootloader image. So now, you FTP it the /tmp folder of your dBox. Do NOT power off the dbox after this is done, or the image will have vanished when you power back up! Ideally, you need the pc, dbox and tv all together for this.

Finally- hit dbox > Service > Image Flash - here, images vary, so use your common sense. You might have to press Red for 'Expert Functions' - or you might go straight in with Blue for Flash Image.

The important bit: You next choose Flash w/o Bootloader for the Partition type, then Red to confirm you really know what you're doing...

And that's it! 5-10 mins, job done. NOW the fun begins!! (Why can't I get any channels? etc etc)

      Cheers- AL

I used to have a Dreambox so the Dbox is new to me, managed to get there in the end although did have a small bit of a scare as I went ahead and missed the flash without bootloader bit but reflashed and all seems to be ok. I was missing the optioni for scanning anything but 19.2E but again sorted when I reflashed with a different image. Thanks for all the hints .... now I have to go off and research my limits on 28.2E

Hints? I spent 15 minutes writing you a detailed Instruction Manual off the top of my head, m8!

I should have hung flashing neon lights around the Flash w/o Bootloader bit!!

You're a bit economical with the Thanks button, aren't you?

          Cheers- AL

Apologies for not saying thanks it is corrected now, I had so many IFA's and FTP's etc doin loop the loops in my head I wasnt thinking straight. Your help is much appreciated.

Maybe you could help me out again if you dont mind. AS I said I had a dreambox and was familiar with downloading cams and cam configs etc through the blue panel but this does not seem possible with dbox2 images. I have downloaded cccam 2.10 from the dreambox section. Is it possible to install this on the dbox2 and if so where do I ftp the file to for install?

On another note, I have been looking at the different images and the only one that will allow me to scan on 28.2e is the Petze image. The rest seem to only have 19.2E and I dont get the option to change this. Am I doing something wrong here?

              Once again a big thanks

If you load one of the old Sportster images onto the box then copy the keys folder to your computer you will have all the working keys. Just in case the the latest rom7 is missing the last link goes to it.

                Code:

I'm cable through and through, and know jack-shite about the Satellite scene. But I would guess the answer to your Scan question is to find a decent satellites.xml and overwrite the original, which should be in /share/tuxbox ??

Reboot then see what Scan options you have. Cheers- AL
