flashed wrong image? how can i load new plz help

    hi guys

    i have a nokia dbox2. I flashed a new image across

    "Neutrino Sportstar Pro_1.10 RC007_19052007_1036_2xI.img"

i think this is the wrong image as after the start up screen, the screen goes blank with a white box flashing in the top right corner. i have tried restarting it, but the same thing happens.

i can't connect to ftp as i don't know the settings of this box.

    can anyone plz help

If you flash an image and It doesn't work you need to Flash an new image using " Image Flashing assistant " which can be found in Downloads, Dbox2, Others and flash a new image that way.

    Video Tutorial : [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-1hmqxmw4c[/ame]btw You don't need a RS232 cable

hi m8 thanks for the tutorial. i have tried it and its proving difficult to flash. the best i have got it to do is hang on the kernel loading screen and the ifa flash assistance doesn't progress....

Is it not possible to do something via ftp? if i can find out the address of the dbox can i connect and upload files or something

ill keep trying though...i dont have a null modem cable and have tried that ootion in the past, but couldnt get that to work either..

All you need is a cross over cable and ifa to sort it mate
While its hanging on the screen
Just unplug the D box and plug it back in
It may take 50 goes but it will in the end flash
No need to touch the pc once IFA is running
        If no go
        Try the portable ifa...................Paul

I should have said an RS232 cable is a Null Modem cable but they aren't necessary

I must of misread your post because I thought you couldn't go to the image menu or anything. If you can still access Network Settings ( assuming you know how to FTP an image ) change your IP address etc and search the Internet for the Sportsters Username which is probably root and password for the FTP client your using and you should be ok.

If you downloaded an image from Downloads it won't work unless you have the Magic Files.

Image Flashing Assistant is trial and error and just because the Progress Bar in Image Flashing Assistant doesn't go past 20 % and it might say Transfer not successful doesn't necessarily mean the transfer of the image wasn't successful. Look at the Progress Bars on your Dbox2 to see If It's flashing successfully

Let me know how your getting on

Although a null modem cable is not necessary, it is much quicker to flash a new image with it, plus the progress of the flash is much more clear to follow with it

              On the same theme

I have a my mates DBOX2 with wrong image just hangs on boot.
On trying to reflash get a message about failed due to
Kernel Security then hangs. Ill try it again and post exact
message. Tried both cables null modem and crossover(both
worked on it before) with IFA but i'll try new version.
