Some Basic Questions

Hi all
I have a Sagem Dbox2 with what i believe has a newmake image which says image type Snapshot 07.04.2008.
When the box boots up it also says Laky Pro(if you require any additional config details please ask).
I wasn't picking up any of the non-free to air channels and decided i needed to update the keys.

But in messy around with some of the settings the channels I've been missing suddenly appeared.
Although my box is now working it seems a little unstable and i have noticed better things in the newer images.
So I have some deep and meaningful questions.

1. When i download a new image I am presuming i ftp the files to the dbox. which folder do I copy the files to.
2. If I need to update the keys which actual file do I copy the keys to. It seems like there are 2 keys but loads of possible places for it to go.What is the actual step by step procedure.
3. Where do the service file go.
4. Where do the bouquet file go.
5. If I update the keys what is the very next procedure when you reboot your box(scanning etc)
6. Where exactly does everyone get there software from, do we all wander aimless from site to site or is it just me.

When I sat down to compose this message I had a lot more to ask but that seems to be it for now.

Some of you may say read this or browse that and what do you think google is for. But I have read this and downloaded every userguide and searched every message board and i can't seem to get a clear answer to some of these questions.

In answer to your questions numbered above.

1. ftp the image to /tmp.

2. I would advise you to download the image at the next link I post and then use the url in that link to get the files you need.

3 and 4. the service and bouquets files both go in /var/config/zapit.

5. press blue button and set your location then reboot and scan.....this will not be necessary if you have up to date service and bouquet files, just go to dbox/dbox services/reload channel lists.

6. You get whats needed at this forum, in the link in Number 2 you have everything you need. PaphosAL is a dbox God, along with the others who provide us with what we need.

The image I linked to is a 2 for 1 image, Neutrino and Enigma, best of both worlds...what more could you ask for.

I will now go off cock my Dbox up but with a little more knowledge.

Word of warning in case not already known: Sagem dboxes are either 1x or 2x chip so make sure you flash the correct image so as not to receive the 'kein system' error
