hi, i got my box today, did a channel scan and a lot of channels are still locked. i tried the 1004 to get the menu up through system info screen but nothing happens, do i need to flash it, and can it be done using the usb device or do i need a cable......

yes you will need to flash it and thats why its called usb you will load the firmware on the usb stick and load it on the box.
