Hi i'm after a tut to flashing a dbox2 using a crossover cable and IFA. I've turned off firewalls and norton and the tut i used said put 192.168.0.2. in IP of pc and in the subnet field type 255.255.255.0.
It then say's find and remember IP of dbox which is 192.168.1.9. then i start IFA find my image cammando 10 or 9.25 start the flash turn on my dbox but nothing happens. I try re-starting my dbox even using the power and up button but it still won't flash. What am i doing wrong, i'm sure this tut is missing some vital info. I need full tut from the beginning as others i have read said put different numbers in the IP address. I would appreciate any help in finding the right info. I would love to master this before giving up and getting it done elsewhere, thanks Donka.

you DONT need to assign a ip to box as IFA takes over the boot process and assigns its own.

turn off firewalls and antivirus/spam etc.

connect box to pc using crossover cable and null modem cable

open IFA

1st box select where image is on pc

2nd box select ethernet port

3rd box select com port

then press start

on the pop up that comes press ok

wait for box to finish

restart and hey presto

If using flashfxp you will need to change your pc nic ip to be in the same range as the boxes ip (192.168.1.9) at the moment your pc nic ip is 192.168.0.2 change the 0 to a 1 like this 192.168.1.2

Hi everyone,
firstly i liked to thank those who replied. Now i seem to have flashed the box using IFA and crossover cable. I flashed commando 10 and it said it was only a free to air image but i only realised this after flashing and all i got was FTA. Then i flashed commando 9.25 which i know has worked on other dboxes but this was the same result. Commando 9.25 was scanned using bruteforce and 10 with the only option besides ireland so that must be correct. Can anybody help me or tell me the best image. I'm almost there just need that final push, thanks to all.

Most images don't have the keys or roms etc loaded in them. You need to get the roms keys and emus and ftp them into your image. Look on google for magic keys dbox m8

Thanks for the reply. I've tried putting in the keys manually using the remote but after pressing var then keys there's no keys there, just 2 lines saying DIR. I've done this way loads of times with another box without any probs. Maybe that's why i'm getting no channels. All channels are there with EPG working but no picture. Do you think i should try another image or could it be something else, any help much appreciated.

I hope this will help you and anyone else. you can do this without using null modem Cable just use your TV hooked to the dbox and of course crossover cable from the dbox hooked to your PC.

OK so now i've put new image onto box Commando 9.25 and i've downloaded flash fxp and nagrarom 7 ready to put to the box. After doing this should i recieve all the channels. I believe in order to have auto updating i need to put this on to. Is this easy to do and where do i get info on this. I've also seen something about Chmod to 755 what is this and is it essential thanks to all.

check to make sure you have keys in your var/keys folder if not download them from here RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

then ftp the rom fix over var/scce folder then restart box and wait for keys to auto update.

dont quote me 100% on the folders i've listed as var/keys and var/scce as i'm well out of touch with dbox images as i upgraded to dreambox long time ago

I tried changing the keys using my remote but couldn't find any, i've done this before with a different box so was looking in the right place (i thinks). That's why i thought putting nagrarom 7 in will put all the keys there then i just have to install AU would this be right thanks.
