I tried the IFA programme but it did not work. The problem is that when u power the box on, it loads for about a minute and then reads "waiting for controid", 5 seconds after, it tells you press reset or turn off power, and then it goes back to stand by.
Due to this, i cant even link it up with my pc because of the standby mode.
Pls help me out.Comment

When you boot up the dbox, on the LCD screen of the box (not on the telly) you get a message with a load of numbers and letters and near the bottom 'lade' (loading).
It seems like you have a bad flash.
IFA is the best way and possbily only way to sort this out. Make sure your box is plugged off, open IFA, open the image you want to flash, start and it should ask you to turn the box on and start flashing. The LCD screen should say 'flashing' while it does. Hope this helpsComment

Are you using a normal ethenet network cable or a crossover cable. if going from PC to box then it has to be a crossover cable. if your going via a router either cable will work. When you boot up the dbox, on the LCD screen of the box (not on the telly) you get a message with a load of numbers and letters and near the bottom 'lade' (loading).

OK M8 I forget to add this in the diagram => make sure that your Dbox is not connected to the power cable once you click on OK as shown on Fig 4 (Picture 4) then connect the power cable to Dbox you will need Null Modem cable to see what is happening during flashing proccess
take your time and good luck: Salami

Many thanks, but my problem now is the cable. I cant really tell if it is ethernet or crossover cable.
And also about the null modem cable, I went to maplin for one but what they have comes with usb at the other end. Will that work fine for me?
The socket on my pc has got 15 pins whereas the null modem cable comes with 10 pins. What can I do about that please?Comment

You should check on ebay for crossover cables or null modem, much cheaper than maplin although you will have to wait for delivery so patience is a virtue! Many thanks, but my problem now is the cable. I cant really tell if it is ethernet or crossover cable.

Hello mates,
I bought the crossover cable and tried the IFA programme, followed all the instructions, selected Ok and after fired the Dbox for the flashing process to start.
Surprisingly, the Dbox went on standby as usual, the flashing process never got completed and this is what I saw at the technical information section of the IFA programme:
"
BootP: Created ARP-entry with IP: 0.0.0.202 and Mac: 00509C3E9203
BootP: Answer to 00509C3E9203 sent

Error DeleteIpNetEntry: The parameter is incorrect.
What might be the problem with the box?
How can I stop it from going to standby so tha IFA can flash the image?
Do I need to set the IP address and all the networking details before the IFA could run?
I wonder how I can get the IP address of the box since it does not even boot up.
Please help me out mates. Please..Comment
