my pc has only got USB slots and 15 pins video output. Is it possible to use the USB for the null modem cable? thanks for the previous response.

You need a serial port on your pc or buy a usb-serial adapter m8

I managed to get the null modem cable with the crossover cable, tried the IFA but the flashing wouldn't start like before.
It kept going down to standby.
Is there anyway I can delete evrything on the box and restart the booting programme all over again.
Please help me out, I've spent almost all the week working on this but unsuccessful.

There is noting to delete M8 all you have to do is flash the dbox again using FIA (Flashing Image Assistant) and start all over again.

To delete everything and restart all over again is what you use IFA for. Select the image you want to install, tick the box where it asks you if you have a null modem cable and then start. It should ask you to turn ON the box, do it and you should see info on the plain white box (thats only if you have null modem connected) it should start flashing by getting an image on the tv screen, if nothing happens pull plug on box and turn on again check if it has started flashing (you dont need to start all over again as IFA is looking for the box to put the image on and if you restart it, it will try again and again, keep trying for a few times (even 10 times!) and eventually it will start flashing.

Hello mates,
I bought the crossover cable and tried the IFA programme, followed all the instructions, selected Ok and after fired the Dbox for the flashing process to start.
Surprisingly, the Dbox went on standby as usual, the flashing process never got completed and this is what I saw at the technical information section of the IFA programme:

What might be the problem with the box?
How can I stop it from going to standby so tha IFA can flash the image?
Do I need to set the IP address and all the networking details before the IFA could run?
I wonder how I can get the IP address of the box since it does not even boot up.
Please help me out mates. Please..

in vista u need to set internet protocol to version 4 Ipv4...find this in network settings....disable any other netword connections

Before you start IFA have your cables connected and your dbox powered ON. Start IFA, when told to hit OK and power on the box. Hit OK then switch the power Off and On quickly. You may have to do this a few times to break the booting loop.

Thanks to you all guys who gave the wonderful help, it finally worked for me.
The image has been flashed successfully but the language is german and would be glad if anyone could help me out with these settings back to english.
The image I flashed was SQUASHFS_1x.img.
Could that be the problem as well?

Has it been modded for the uk if it has not the scan menu wont be correct and work
best bet is to flash a uk modded image on from the downloads

ok I finally decided to change the image to ss enigma. I managed to flash it and everything went fine but there is no channel listed. I did an auto scan which took about 20minutes but after, the channels were still not available.
What do I need to do after flashing an image to get everything up and running.
Please help me out. I'm a newbie.

You need to set you location by pressing blue button then try the scan. If this does not work (it doesn't for me!) then turn fast scan off and do a bruteforce scan. Will take a bit of time (about 20-30 mins maybe) but should find transponders and channels. Hope this help

I can't see the option for location settings on the Enigma V4 but I did a scan anyway through set-up and I have all the channels listed thus about 300 channels with only the basic channels working right.
If I select the sly channels, it doesn't show. How do I unlock this please.
Do I need to ftp any file to make this work?
I am thinking about using Sportster instead but dont know wherer to get the image. Pls help me out.
