very confused and fustrated!

I was using a chipped pace box which recently went off. The guy that did the cards and dbox's can't be found. My dbox has been "hit" for a while so i was using the pace box for all my viewing.

I have been reading a lot on the dbox 2 and how to "flash" it and put new "images". I went out and bought the cross over cable and the null modem cable. Thinking " how hard could it be?" I am so confused and i dont know where to start!! I dont understand a thing!! I live in the virgin east london area and the image that my dbox 2 has is commander. Its has 2 intel chips and currently only shows bbc1,2, itv1,c4, c5 Channels. PLEASE HELP DESPERATE! i dont have any hair left!

I forgot to mention, when I first started with my DBox i used dbox2-flashing-assistant alot easier than ftp if your not sure what your doing.

Hi all! I have now been able to "flash" the dbox 2 with the "Commando 11.3_x2_UkCvs.img" image. I was really excited until I connected the box and found that i was back to square one :-( . Its a better layout to what I had before but the most important thing.........the channels were still missing :-( Onlt had the fta channels.

What do i do next? Thanks

i have been now fiddling with the "FlashFXP" now and trying to put the files in the var folder of the box. No luck. Which file? how? where? do they go? Which of these "magic files" do i use? Not much hair left!
