    EPG evolution plug in

    hi everyone
    ive been keping an eye on the dreambox section and ive seen that they are experimenting with a 7 day EPG. i think the answer is probably no but can this plug in be used on the latest version of Blade Quad or will it need significant work to get it operational

    any thoughts??

    There is already a 7 day epg on the dbox... thanks to FreddyFr0g!

    you don't even need to have an internet connect (like the evolution plug in)

      yes i understand that the normal EPG supports 7 days but my cable feed only supplys whats on now and whats next. the difference with this is it goes to the net to get the EPG. unless someone can tell me what setting to change on the dbox to get it to read more than one show ahead or am i fighting a loosing cause here??

        ftp FreddyFr0g's sectionsd file to the box then press red green on the remote to view more than now & next
        also you may need an epgfilter.xml file so you can choose which channels have 7 day epg

            It will work but you will need to make an epgfilter file to keep the boxes memory from becoming full.

            It seems the images that have it included already are bacically stripped of most stuff for the reason of keeping memory free for the EPG.

                I came across this somewhere but cant remember where

                <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
                <?This file lets you filter the channels you rarely if ever watch- and restrict them to 'Now and Next EPG' only. This can save rakes of memory on your dbox, leading to vastly improved stability of whatever neutrino image is in use. Use a text editor like Metapad or UltraEdit to Copy lines from your bouquets.xml file and Paste them into this file, like the two examples shown. After saving the file, it's a good idea to open it with IE6 or 7 to check for any syntax errors before you ftp it to your dbox /var/tuxbox/config/zapit/ folder. The use of Notepad / Wordpad for doing any of this is definately NOT recommended! If using FreddyFrog's 7 Day EPG for the channels you DO watch, then this filter file is the key to success!?>

                - <epgfilter is_whitelist="0" except_current_next="1">
                <channel serviceID="1776" name="BBC THREE" tsid="003c" onid="0031" />
                <channel serviceID="1d5a" name="Virgin Radio" tsid="004b" onid="0031" />
                </epgfilter>

                  Guys

                  I have added the epg filter to the downloads section in services and bouquets it should be placed in the zapit folder but will check up on this.

                  If mods think file is not appropriate please remove no harm done

                  Cheers

                    The epgfilter.xml needs to be personalized for the specific user so they can choose which channels they need 7 day epg also it will be area specific just like the services.xml
