how can you check that the tuner is gone on a nokia dbox2?

I have a Nokia dbox2 but i can't get any channels on it - not even freeview. I have another box working perfectly with Blade Quad, i successfully flashed this box with blade quad (and other images), copied over my services but still no joy. I know that the cables are all ok (as my other box works perfectly on the same cables), it picks up the transponders but does not find any channels on a service scan. I have set my location and everything else but still no joy. I think that the tuner is gone but i thought i'd ask you guys if there is any way to check the tuner. thanks in advance

Copy the services.xml file from your working box to the fault box and reload channels.

Go to a channel and press RED > BLUE and note the SNR %.

It needs to be over 55,000 before you'll get any channels.

It could be the conenction inside the adapter that's loose.
It could be a try solder join somewhere on the tuner board or at the coax end.

If you can, take a normal aerial cable and plug the RF out on the dbox into the aerial socket on your TV. You might want to test it with the working box first so that you know it works. If you tune in the analog channels on your TV you should get some FTA channels, i.e. bbc, itv, etc. Do the same on the faulty box and if you don't get any channels the tuner is gubbed!

Before you do anything drastic try changing the ucode some boxes can be a bit picky about what one they like. Its on the blue button menu. try switching between 001A and 0014.

try this, plug your cable feed for the dbox directly into your tv and tune in the channels. then remove the cable feed from the tv and put it back into the dbox. connect another cable from the output of the dbox to the tv to loop the signal and if the picture is snowy then the tuner is kackered. dont have a av lead connected, PT1 's guide will give you more info, not had a dbox for awhile but i'm sure this is what you do

Yep I was told this before, and it did work on a tuner I had, but the tuner was still not working. I opened the box and took the cover off the tuner, then put it back on. I also removed the modem.

I plugged it back in and it has not had a bother since. Maybe something got moved slightly, just like plugging in and out stuff in a PC can fix it, just by reseating everything. I didnt fully remove the tuner though.
