You just need some co-axial cable and a connector both available from b&q, you may be lucky and find the cable is live, if someone previously had cable at your address it probably is, test it by connecting to tv ariel socket and see if you get bbc1 etc if not you will have to get someone to connect it up in the green box-(No you shouldn't do that yourself), pay vermin to connect it up & subscribe to tv or broadband to get it working

iv got cable in my bedroom but dnt want to use splitters so can i make a new connection from the box outside and take another coax cable directly from the outside box into living room.

How can i screw on the coax to my tv to c if i get bbc1, dnt i need a f coax plug to slot it into the bak of my tv, does that mean it acts as the tv aerial coming from the external aerial on my chimney

If you have cable working then your cable is live so no need to test it by putting it into the tv's ariel connection, just then a matter of making a connection outside and bringing it in, I'm not a cable engineer so not sure what connectors you will need but how hard can it be?
