    image flash not flashing

trying to update comando 6 image to comando 11, ive used the laptop to flash a few boxes b4, but somehow its not taking to this one.

i can ftp to the box no probs,

heres what i do ,i start img flash, select image and network card (lan) i turn of the wireless and when it says after ok turn box power on i pull plug press ok and replug it in, but on the windows vista network view , it looses connection and then regains it when power is in.

but after all that the box boots into comando 6 and imf still says waiting on dbox.

    anyideas whats wrong??

i tryed to scan to get chans with comando 6, it scanned for 1 sec and deleted mt service file now ive no chans.

if anyone has a service file for north lanarkshire could they post it , thanxx

    Hi m8,

Just ftp the image file to /tmp on your dbox and then flash the image via the service menu using your dbox remote. Make sure you backup the contents of the following folders var/keys and var/bin/emu as you will need to add these to the new image once flashed. Always select the option Flash without bootloader when flashing this way.
When you have transferred the image do NOT unplug or reboot the box or the file will be deleted.
    Best of luck

        Hi m8,

It should be a .img file? Download the latest version from post 3 here: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...upgrade-65099/
Then just ftp it to /tmp and follow my previous instructions.
Once you have the image loaded don't forget the upgrades.
Also don't forget to thank the commando guys!

The channel icons are included in the addons.rar, the readme explains how to add these manually m8.If the box is connected to the internet you can add these using the addons menu.
              Any issues post back.

                  Hi m8,
There is a readme (text file) included and once you have transferred the file you need to use telnet to install the addon(all explained in the readme). to telnet click start then run then type in "telnet dbox ip" where dbox ip is the ip of your dbox and this should bring the telnet screen where you need to enter username "root" and then the password "commando"
Then follow the instructions in the readme m8

                    ok i read this bit.

                    1. Reboot the dbox. Do NOT skip this vital step, please!!

                    2. FTP upgrade.tar.bz2 'as is' to /tmp - DO NOT extract it's contents with WinRar!!

                    3. In Telnet:
                    /var # cd /tmp (enter)
/tmp # tar -xjvf upgrade.tar.bz2 (enter - takes <20 secs to unpack all the folders/files)
                    /tmp # /tmp/upgrade (enter)

And that's it! Another <20 secs and all the new and updated files (all with their correct chmod
attributes) are seeded through your C11.3 image, and the dbox reboots itself.

                    Welcome to Commando 11.3.11!!

so i ftp the file to the dbox , then use telnet to unpack it then use the menu on dbox?

                          Hi m8,
Are you sure you are not rebooting the box and that you are definately not unpacking the file before or after transfer (upgrade.tar.bz2 must be transferred and left as a zip file) then either use telnet or the manual addons menu.
