Nokia Dbox2 shut down during flashing

Hi all new here, just got a Dbox2 Nokia and whilst flashing a new image (playing around because it worked OK) the box shut down during the flash process, the image was 2x for the Nokia. Now I have Kein System, I know I need to use IFA to reflash and get my box back, but there seems to be some confusion as to the cable to use, I have read on other forums that you need the Null Modem cable and others say you can use the crossover cable. My laptop does not have a conventional serial port and I do not have a serial to USB type adaptor, I do have a crossover cable.

Can someone clarify the best method please

Best method is both but you can get it working with just the cross over lead. the null modem is helpful incase there's a problem during flashing and you need the log file created.

get IFA Portable as it works best. Make sure the speed/duplex of your NIC is set to 10/half (this is what the dbox runs at) , give it a static IP and it should be fine. there's loads of guides on it.
