    Scanning details

Hi all, when doing a scan on my Sagem dBox, I have used "Bruteforce for UK", as an "expert" said this was best. I'm just curious to know if this is correct, as I can also use Cable UK Sym 6887 or Cable UK Sym 6952. What would be the difference? I'm in Peterborough. Not sure of the origin of my provider.

if you dont know your original provider then you need to use bruteforce.

    6952 is ex telewest areas

    6887 is ex ntl areas

bruteforce scans all frequencys in 6952 and 6887, hence why it takes longer

Thanks for that! nice and simple! The fog has cleared! I prefer to know why i'm doing stuff, rather than just doing it! Appreciate your help!

peterbourogh is listed as Peterborough NTL/EX C&W, net id =41049 freq=666750 sym rate=6887 but i would try 6952 if u don't pick up anything.....

Yeah...if the frequency is 666750 then it was an ex c&w area and the symbol rate should be 6952.

I'll try to remember to change that.
