The ber is to high and the snr is to low check both connections on either end of the cable make sure none of the outer braid is touch the central copper core and its connected to a output not a input on the splitter it could also be the cable breaking down
also if the splitter has a high db this will reduce the signal strength it will say what it is on the label the more splitters you have on the line the more the signal is reduced
the snr needs to be above 55000 to get the channels working
you could try the SLX1P booster from argos ?9.99

ahahh I think it could be the outer braid it touching the central copper, what is the best tool to use to cut this type of cable?

ok, already downloadedw the magic files, so do i just overwrite the folders on the dbox with the ones in the magic files zip and then chmod some of them to 755?

Ftp the files inside the folders not the folders to the relevent folders on the box and chmod the ones the text files tells you to

yes sorry mate, getting some channels now, namely bbc1, 2, itv, channel 4 and 5, also gettin e4, not tried any others, cant get dave though and other things you'd get on freeview, im going to ftp the magic files over now and see what happens, do i need to scan again after it?

also do you know the password to ftp onto the image you told me to use, virgin ultra lite or something? Oh and another thing, my sound is very low while using the dbox anyway to sort it?

No need to scan after transfering the files and chmodding just reboot the box then leave it on a blank channel for 5 mins

press dbox,settings,audio and choose avs or ost then home and save settings
