dbox2 scanned but no channels available

    Hi,

I have a Nokia dbox2 with the Sportster image v1.7. A few channels disappeared a few days so I have re-scanned. I am in the birmingham area so have scanned with the "cableuk sym6952" settings, fast scan off, manual scan off.

All the transponders and channels are found and these are also displayed in services.xml file. After the scan, the box has been re-booted, but none of the channel are displayed with the exception of the standard free view channels. I have re-scanned several times now but without any success.

Am i missing something in the re-scan process? .I have tried to check previous postings but have not found anything that could help. Would appreciate any help or pointers to a previous posting.

    Thanks

      Both above posts
You would be easier to reflash with a self updating image
And rescan again ,try fast scan first
If no joy try slow for better results....................Paul

        Picking Transponders but no channels

Can anyone help me determine if my dbox2 tuner is dead? The deep scan is picking up transponders (306) but no channels.

I've reflashed with the latest commando 12 image. No channels at all including FTA.

Am I looking at a dead tuner?

press red then blue button (depending on image ie: blade quad), if snr is below 55000- then problem with signal coming in. The only way to really find out is by posting a bootlog and then someone from here will and may be able to help you futher.

I take it the box is goosed then? Can anyone confirm so I can use it as a door stop?

Try flashing the Commando 12 image onto the box and try a re scan. Make sure you select your area first though from the commando menu (Blue button).

No errors in the bootlog try a slx1p booster from argos to raise the snr above 55000 then try a scan.

Your snr is very low it should be at 55000 or above to receive channels. If you have any splitters on the line remove them and see if that works. I would suggest buying a booster to up the signal........

Thanks guys for the advise - I've already got the commando 12 image on and set my location but bruteforce scan didn't do any good.

I already have a working eurovox in 1 room - so I'll try without the splitter and see if the snr picks up on the dbox.

Brute Force Scan didn't work in the release Commando 12. Update it to the current C12.1.2 version (see the first post in the C12 feedback thread), and try again.

The update includes Cydine's fixes for the BF Scan issue, and he also makes the VM-style Bouquets feature 100% compatible with the new Channel Map.

                        Cheers- AL

Tried the LHC2 image without the splitter and no joy upping the SNR. It did pick up a few channels tho but no picture.

I'm giving up on the dbox as the EuroVox is working..... for now

Thanks to all that contributed...very much appreciated DK rocks
