Sly Box Office on Laky pro Settings

Last night I spend all night trying to get Sly Box office running for the Khan fight on my working DBox2.

I have a "Live Events Channel" which showed a stationary advert for SBO but it didn't switch to the live action at 9pm last night as I hoped it would.

I also manage to find, (by adding more channels through the remote control), a channel called "Sky Box Office Live Events" but this channel just says "waiting for EPG" and nothing comes on it, this was again confirmed at 9pm when the channel should have become live.

I realised I had to do a channel scan to get the proper channel that was airing SBO.

I tried a couple of scan but each time I just ended up with a test channel and all my current channels had been lost. I presume I don;t have the correct settings when I'm doing the scan.

I am in Sth Lanarkshire on VM, (Ex telepest) provider.

On my Laky Pro image some of the settings are slightly different from my old images so I am unsure of which settings I need to do a proper scan for my area. Can anyone help me get the correct setting for a full scan? Maybe you could copy paste the options below and mark the correct settings in bold for me.

Edit: Failing this if anyone can tell me what to alter in services.xml, to get the proper channel added I could try that too if it's easier?

Since this is getting no response. I'll whittle it down in the hope someone can point me in the right direction:
    • Under Scan for Channels I'll go for TV and Radio
    • Under Channel Order I'll go for No change
    • Under Area I'll try both All UK Scanning and CableUK6952 (which I think is old telepest)
    • Under UK Fast Scan turn that Off
    • Under Scan Mode I'll go for UK

The questions I really need answered are:
    1. Which numbers are required in Frequency?
    2. Which numbers are required in Symbol Rate
    3. And do I need Background Scan on or off?

    Can anyone help?

Hi Cappa. I have a dbox2 running the 'Lacky pro 1' image.

I managed to get the channel by changing my area from 'ALL UK' to CableUK Sym6952 which is my symbol rate (6952) my frequency is 651000. I then ran the scan and got the additional channels:

    Sly box office sports
    Live events channel
    ppv event 3

Sly box office sports was the only chan to show the fight. But the next day that channel was gone from my listings? I did not bother to do a re-scan because I had recorded the fight.

I think in future, on the same day of a big live event, I'll just scan and see what I get.

      Hi, thanks for the reply.

My settings are already set on Frequency 755000 but the symbol rate was on 6887 (I think). I've just changed it to 6952, then I'll do a scan to see if I get any more channels.

I'm not sure if 755000 is maybe my area or not. I'll report back here if it works though. Cheers.

your frequency for South Lanarkshire 619000

        net id = 40984

        sym rate = try 6952

I got it. PPV3 is sitting there. That was the scan under frequency 755000. But although my channel lists stayed, it's a bit of a mess. So I'm going to FTP the box as it stands and get the services.xml.

Then put on my good settings with that channel added. Sweet! Thanks guys.

It's cool mate I think I now have it sorted as I now have the following channels:
              1. Live Event Channel (this shows a static image of the Khan fight the other night)
              2. PPV3 (This shows nothing)
              3. Sly Box Office Live Events (This shows nothing)
              4. Sly Box Office Sports (This shows VM screen with the message "This live event has now finished. Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed it."

I'm presuming number 4 is the channel I wanted and needed. I'm guessing I'm all set up for future PPV events. Thanks for all your help guys.

P.S. If anyone needs or wants the services info for this channel, just let me know. (Although I'm not sure they differ depending on area).
