unable to over write the evocamd file

Hi, Guys,
i am trying to transfer the magic F, over. i've hit a stumbling block,
i am unable to over write the evocamd file. i've ended up with an evocamd folder. i've tried deleting it, without success.
also i've got an old virgin lite image, do i need the lib file as i don't have a licrypto folder?
any suggestions?
Metman mentioned in a previous post that it might be possible to end up with a
var/bin/emu/evocamd/evocamdfolder. i could not see what the solution was.

Remember you transfer the files not the folders to the box
you might have to reflash it also you cannot overwrite evocamd if its running either start a different camd in the dbox menu or delete it first
and you dont have a licrypto folder you just put the file in the lib folder.

I had this problem and had to reflash coz the image seemed to go read only for some reason can u rename any files at all ?

i did transfer the evocamd file along with t mgcamd. Somehow the evocamd turned into a folder. I've chmod mgcamd, no problem.
I don't have a lib folder, where does it go?
How do i turn on mgcamd and turn off evocamd so i can delete the folder?

OK. I managed to rename the evocamd folder and deleted it, transfered the real evocamd file. My only remaining query is where do i put the lib folder?
Restarted evocamd, but still missing sky sports.

you don't transfer the lib folder only the files in the lib folder (from magic files) into the images lib folder which resides in the root directory. You may not need these files so try out the img first if it don't work transfer the libcrypto.so.0.9.7 and the libcamdio.so.0 files into the /lib folder and chmod both files to 755

Virgin+ 2.1 used a 'special' setup for the magic stuff, involving symlinks. So the 'real magic' pack is not really the one to be using. The readme for this image points you to this:

You might be better off starting afresh, by reflashing with the latest Virgin+ 3.0 Image (as a lot of new features have been devved over the 18 months since 2.1). Then use the generic 'Real Magic' pack:

Also, forget the /lib files - as these are already included in the image! (I think the Real Magic compiler only added these to account for certain images that didn't have them as standard at that time).

Morning, all,
I meant to get up early and have a crack at this, but i over slept.
Now the wife is dragging me out shopping, when i return i will flash the V+3 image and go from there.

OK, all, I am back. Shopping was good, for a change, replaced a jumper that got shrinked in the wash.
Right, got up early this morning, flashed the vm3 image, and did the magic files bit, had to do a scan though. I told it to leave the bouquet, it did. But put all the chs into the unsorted. I now have to get rid of the undeserable chs.
The box is up and running, got all the chs, but freezing a bit.
maybe when i get rid of some chs it will run smoother. Sagem box. 1 x.

Bouquets-wise, you'll make life far easier by applying the 01 March Update to ver 3.0.1 and Scan again. But this time, set Bouquet Mode to Create VM-style bouquets

For Sagem, experiment with the Watchdog settings in Driver & Boot Options. All of our development is done on the Rolls-Royce of dBoxes: Nokia, LOL!

how do i apply the updates? Can you supply instructions, please?
What will the VM-style bouquets give me? Also fast scan, on or off? I can not have the naughtie chs on there, wife will go bonkers. Is it easy to omit them?

Simple instructions are in a readme.txt in the update rar file. You just ftp the update tarball file intact to /tmp and then use the Update Image menu to update automatically.

VM Bouquets will work in both Fast Scan and Brute Force Scan modes. Yes, you'll get an Adult bouquet- but this can easily be Locked / Hidden locally via Bouquet Editor.

added the update, rescanned and now have the VM style bouquets. However, i am unable to hide the Adult bouquet.
I deleted it but, they have moved to the unsorted bouquet.
Help! how do i do it as i can not see any instructions under the bouquet editor menu to hide the adult chs.

Locking and/or Hiding a bouquet is all done on the dbox or blue button, but too late now if you've deleted it.

Easiest solution for you now is: Settings > Misc > Zapit Config Menu and toggle Show Unsorted Bouquet? from YES to NO

Voil?! Job done!
