you cant do anything with the tuxtxt plugin, teletext is no longer available on uk cable. this service was terminated recently in favour of the interactive red button which unfortunately does not exist on dbox.

what channels have you tried with the tuxtxt plugin? Ofcom revoked the teletext service licence, but you may still be able get subtitles via page 888 with the tuxtxt plugin on a limited few channels like channel5 bbc3,bbc4... most channels will not have teletext services now however but may still be able to access the 888 page.

after installing tuxtxt plugin, try viewing channel5 press blue button and then teletext and then enter 888.

Instead of Ofcom throwing their weight around and ordering the withdrawal of TeleText (long before Analogue itself is murdered), I wish they'd do something more useful with their powers...

Starting with ordering Sky and Virgin to offer AT LEAST the same cardless channel line up (FTA and FTV) as does Digital Terrestrial FreeView and also FreeSat!!

Then to order a Monopolies Commission enquiry into Sky's stranglehold on the Pub's Sky Sports (where they can charge what they like). Hang on, there's a thought- why is there only ONE Monopolies Commission?

          Rant over...
