basic instructions for nokia 2x

can anyone help with opperating instructions? (new to these boxes)
flashed with commando 12 image but all i get when i connect to tv is a black screen so can't get menu up to scan for channels. any ideas anyone?

have you connected the box via a scart cable to tv
press blue then blue again (i think) for set my location
then do a scan via the main menu on the box

Have you added the magic files and chmodded the cams?

tried to add the magic files but the box wouldn't connect. thought i would get the fta channels without them? had the box connected to pc with rs and ethenet cables

i have set location and clicked ok. now the display is showing a horizontal bar at the top and a smaller one at the bottom with the time to the right. cant seem to find anything in the menu to start a scan

I'd disable the fast scan option, it takes up to 30min but you're more likely to get a result doing a 'brute force' or 'hard scan' like this as opposed to fast scanning.

His Commando 12 will need updating to C12.1.2 (1st March- available on here in the Commando 12 thread: post #1)

Otherwise, Brute Force Scan won't work!! Cydine fixed it, bless him!

i cant get the box to connect to pc to instal updates, using flash fxp. tried with ethenet cable, then null modem cable and then both. ip on the box is showing 192.168.0.3 . tried this with no luck, so tried changing last digit to 1 through to 10 and still no luck. all i get every time is connection failed(timed out). i didn't have this problem with dreambox 500, it connected first time with the ip on the box. anyone any idea what i'n doing wrong?

u connecting direct to pc (xover ethernet) or thru router (str8 ethernet)

use command prompt on pc type in >ipconfig /all.......on ur dbox set default gateway as ur router ip and set ur dbox ip addy in ur routers range....ie if ur pc is 192.168.1.3 set ur dbox as 192.168.1.8 then start/restart network now on dbox then test network now to see pings....if dbox and default gateway got pings u can connect to flashfxp using dbox ip address user = root and password = dbox2 unless commando img then password = commando
