New Dbox2

Hi all new dbox2 , never set one up before. Stuck commando 12 on it found my network ID freq etc set it REPEATEDLY and cannot get a single FTA channel!!

Any clue please?

ALso tried fast and brute scan and messed a lot with different locations. updated to 1.2 aswell so now im really stuck!

Tried three different images, commando 11.3 , 12 and virgin +3. Flashed one with IFA and the other two FTP as it was simpler.
I just cannot pick up a single thing. Even a brute force scan doesnt get one channel.

We pay for a medium tv package so the signal should be quite good - i did find it once on the dbox and it seems quite good but i have lost it now.

I have 11.3 installed at the minute - just the plain image from the downloads no services files etc as i cannot find any for my area.

If you guide me to finding the signal strength again ill post it all up for you.

I should at least get terrestrial / free-view down the line shouldn't i? if the box is setup correctly?

My signal is intermittent. very good then very poor. Sorted it now and rescanned - lots of channels now. BUT all the FTA ones have a key symbol are they encrypted too? So ill i can get is 1-5 and bbc three :S

More than likely N3 we've had a new card for downstairs box - but no files what so ever some one will have to kindly PM me exact instructions on where to find and where to FTP to.

But FTA encrypted, seriously?

Commando12 with magic files.....
Set the CAMS (blue button), only 1 should be on...try either one. leave it on for a minute and see if it works.

Magic files on played with cams get some free view but not all. E4 , E4 + 1 dave, dave ja vu and i think yesterday and quest. Dont work! They display the key symbol for encryted and will not work. I just get a blank black screen and no sounds / picture.

If you are recieving most encrypted channells , then do another scan maybe and look in unsorted/other bouquet, but if you are getting most chans then you are probably slowly losing them m8 it's doom central for you!!

If it as Ethernet connection/adaptable then just hang on to it
