Subnet mask is always - 255.255.255.0
    Broadcast - don't bother with
Default Gateway - IP address of router (if you are connecting it to a router)
DNS Server - Assigned automatically by the router if you are using DHCP.

If you're connecting it to your PC without a router, you only need the ip address and subnet mask. The first 3 ranges of the ip address should be the same for all devices on the network but the last range should be different for each device.

    For example...

    PC - 192.168.1.101
    Dbox2 - 192.168.1.102
    Dreambox - 192.168.1.103
    Wireless Bridge - 192.168.1.104
    Xbox360 - 192.168.1.105
    Wireless PDA - 192.168.1.106

    etc. etc.

Click the 'Start/restart Network' option in the dbox2 network settings page after adjusting any network properties.

If you're using a router, put the ip address of the router into the default gateway section and enable DHCP.

Save settings and reboot the box.

Go back into the network page and it will have assigned it an ip address, use this ip address in your ftp client.

Null modem big guy thats the way to go.

If you can t communicate with the box in ftp then you have to use dreamup wit null modem.

You obviously flashes the box with a bad image.

never used ifa through the router but i think you use just an ethernet lead doing it that way. try connecting the crossover cable straight to the the pc itself, its the way i always do.
