    Creating a dbox image?

    How do i go about creating a dbox image? Anybody give me any tips?
    The Falkirk Wheel...... It's the best we can do!

      A lot of the links in the guide are dead mate, are there any other guides? Or where to get right files needed etc?

          This is a BIG question mate......

          "Making" an image isn't too hard but there are a lot of pre-requesits:
          - Linux/Unix PC
          - with all relevant packages installed.
          - basic knowledge of Newmake compilation --so that you can configure the build to your likeing.

          You would still be left with a very basic image that you would need to modify to work in the UK.

          Try Googleing "barfs dbox site". That will give you a fair idea of what's involved.
          Also try Tuxbox CVS and the TUxbox Wiki - some of it is even in English!

            As always PT-1's helpfile explains how, like it does for everything else about the dbox.

              Can i use an existing cables.xml file from another image in my own image?

                You can use wot you like from one image to another
                Be nice to ask the modders permission first though
                Its not just a case of stealing pieces of everybodys image mate
                You need to get involved
                If all you want is your Pic on the Bootup screen
                and your name in the Right in
                Above will do that for you ...................Paul

                    I understand that, it's just that the link in the pps presentation to a cables.xml file doesn't work. If someone can give me a guide to creating my own i'd happily do it. I'm a bit of a noob but not scared of getting my hands dirty.
