At no point have I said that its fine for a few to have it and not the masses. I am merely saying that due to the masses ripping the cable company off, this is what has led to N3 being installed.

And it costs sky nothing for the channels, as they are their channels. They have to pay money for football rights, and other sports rights, and I would imagine they have to pay for tv programs and such to the producers of programmes, and also pay for movies to the studios.

So nedster1972, what other points would you like to raise? As I have said on numerous occasions, if you dont like what they charge, or dont want to pay then watch terrestrial, or watch it online. Also you have 18 posts, 4 of which are here, and clearly know little or nothing about the cable scene. You have bought a box off a trader of some description, plugged it in and hey presto. Now because there is no easy solution, you want to be spoon fed the answers. Get real!

i myself know alot about electrical work, plumbing & basic diy skills & on other forums i myself have given people help in these areas.
if people don,t want to help they don't post simple as that.
but myself if i know the answer to anyones problems i will help it is nice to help people.

yes JTH i will use my box until it is cut off then i will watch freeview.
i can go to the pub to watch a match if i want to or even watch on the internet which by the sounds of it is ok to do but getting a free box is not. as for producers & programmers etc they cost a fraction of the money they rake in you get real mate have a look at the profits these companies make man greed simple greed.

Thats the best answer you have written in this thread. I am not saying I wont help, however I am not going to spoon feed people the answers. I know for a fact, the answers you require are here. All you need to do, is use the search button, there is a full guide on N3, and what to do after it hits.

And yes people do already know the answer, myself included, however whats the likelyhood of you staying and contributing to this forum if you get given the answer with a total of 19 posts?

Im not saying that companies dont make lots of money from what they are doing, but they also have massive overheads, this is the way of business. If your talking about the world, then yes, it is a capatilist world, and I would agree with that statement. after flashing & restart connect your dbox to the internet. a network cable through your router works fine. then after setting network settings & closing down menu just press the blue button on remote & a whole new menu comes up called technical.
on there is commando system menu online update is there.
simple really.
but my next thing is this used to have this flash image installed Sportster_ultra [2x] 021109 with which dave, living, bravo etc worked fine. i also have a eurovox 1100usb box on which living dave & bravo etc still work but with my dbox these channels just show blank screen.
can anyone tell me why or how to rectify this.

I dont really understand the wobblys bit, but hey its probably a colloquialism. And I get my Sly+HD cheap, thats why I have it, am not paying full price. I pay ?19 a month for all hd channels and sky sports.

Again a much better post, although use paragraphs, as it makes it easier to read. And as you can see I pay for my sub, so not here for the free cable, I am here for the forum, and the people, and to help others when I have to knowledge to help.

Im not saying you aint been helpful ned, but your not the only person who has come here for the answer to questions that cannot be answered. And to a certain extent it does matter how many posts you have, but hey I gave you the answers you needed. Try posting more, or getting involved in the forum, and you will find that peoples attitudes towards you will warm, and people will help you a lot more, and be more accomodating.

As I said, we have all been n00bs myself included, but we learn by reading, and researching. I cannot answer the rest of your post, as I know nothing about dbox's sorry.

Ned take off the caps, no need to shout. And I dont have cable, I have Sky+HD as it says under my name. And I can indeed get it cheaper. But thats because I work for them

Its called the associate package, but I also get sky cheap, as I used to work for them too, so it dont blow any of my argument.

Glad to see you posted though, didnt think you would come back tbh. But thats just my opinion. And opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

As for a motorised system, thats the easy part. . Getting it working is the hard part!

there is some canny dish/motor pack deals and boxes on ebay, but do your homework before you buy, personaly id recommentd the DM800.

iv'e still got a sly dish from when i had sly a couple of years ago still works i just set it up in back room for the freeview channels.
can i use that dish with any of these systems.
