    problem d2box

loaded new image to box ok, but when putting back other image to the box
the box seems to not go to the normal boot loader screen and jus says loading kernal all the time.

how do i get out of this condition i have left the box in

tryed leaving it on see if it loads for few hours nothing loads.

hope ive not goosed the box to much...

autoboot : 1 in small writing on screen before loading kernal message keeps displaying.

u need to use image flash assistant (IFA) - plenty of posts on the subject...shouldn't have had a issue flashing a previously working image, unless u saved it incorrectly....what was the name and size of the image u saved eg mtd3.img and 7.88 mb?

some people have probs using ifa but set up correctly it should be fine.....what size is ur saved img?? as i think sportster may use flasimage....u should save ONE PARTITION and NO BOOTLOADER not whole img...

back to ifa people running xp seem to have less issues than vista but saying that it seems plenty of people manage...

try newtuxbox flash tools u may get ur service / bouquet and other files from it...but it is this file that has caused the loading kernal and no matter how long u wait it aint going to boot....

Golden rule too late for u now but

Remember : you always flash or read “Image without bootloader”
All Linux Images are without bootloader and exactly 8.257.536 Bytes !!!! if not : DO NOT FLASH !!! or THERE WAS AN ERROR DURING READING YOUR IMAGE TO YOUR PERSONAL COMPUTER !!!

u can send me ur img if u want and i can see if i can get the files from there for u....pm me if u r interested...

I had same problem before, IFA didn't work for me either. I ended up being able to flash a new image using a null modem cable via hyperterminal. A long winded process and not for the faint hearted, but it worked a treat. There's a sticky for it.

heres the image file. will have to take care with what im doing.

hope all those important files that are unique to the box are there.

their not 'essential' but it's just easier if u have a service file, this stops the need to scan, the bouquet files stops the need to reorder ur channels...any new img will be ok as long it is the same as ur box ie 1x or 2x chip....all nokias are 2x sagems can be either

hmmmmmm... pace is echoing away once again

so with the box as it is now, ive try commuincating to it throught the usual method flashxp doesnt want to connect to it doesnt like the ip address i usuall used

whats the best way to ping into my box. tryed pinging all the ip i have used
hopeing that when i sort my null cable out i will be able to see some stuff a bit like libby program.
