still haveing problem since my box is still stuck with kernal on screen
having problems talking to the box. its like the ip adress has changed
whats the best mothod to make a connetion to the box

as i have not got null cable yet. will that be able to flash the box with out knowing its ip. will flash assitance give me some data back or other software toknow the ip of the box and the state its in.

if you use a null modem cable and image flashing assistant, you dont need to know the ip address of the box, you will need to know it when it reboots and you wish to put all the bouquets etc on it

yes mate, as far as i know, no other way to flash teh box at the stage you are at without a null modem cable, they are cheap anyway, but i gues youll need to wait till you get one?

All you need is a Crossover RJ45 cable mate
That alone will do it
Ive never used a Null in 3 years
Only to Extract a Bootlog
Try that way first
Reduces Problems as well....................Paul
