Channel Freezing

Hi, Have a Nokia Dbox2 with Command 9.25 in Newcastle area, FTA ch's fine, realy only a few chanels freezing sky1 sky sports1 Bloody annoying any1 know what it could be ? i have searched threads and found maybe i need to downgrade my img? or is there a problem in my area? only freezing for 5-10 seconds every hour.

Its a signal problem. Try using a variable attenuator. This will allow you to vasry the signal strength coming in.

I had the exact same problem but with the attenuator it was a easy fix. Plus they only cost a few quid on ebay or a bit more from an electrical store like maplins.

Make sure its a variable one though.

Yes if you play around with it you will get the correct setting eventually.

Any help please... its not img problem as i have commando 8 in my bedroom and its just the same.. any ideas ???????????

max= 62194 min= 60138 and dbox will only work on mgcam is that normal?

i cant get evocam working m8, i get only fta channels when enabled but mgcam i get the lot any ideas ??

Ok, when i enable evocam i get a black screen but if i w8 ages i get my picture its the same for all channels then after a few channels its black screen again, somit wrong here i think this may be the root cause..
i have evocam.mgcam.newcam.gbox. mgcam is the only 1 working properly but i still get ch freeze

had this type of prob myself at first..
i'm on vm

wut i done was remove the large filter tv/radio block from the wallbox that ntl installed & connected the 2 cables directly together using a coupler..

this sorted me out..

I know that many peeps out there are still struggling with cam switching and au'ing. The majority of these peeps will be using a three cam setup.

I've discovered a strange anomaly with this scenario- and it goes to prove that despite four year's experience of dbox2 and neutrino, I'm still learning new things every day!

What's occurring here?

Assume you AU fine with mgcamd and it has created it's own SoftCam.Key file, or updated an old one you supplied it with. But let's say it's freezing, so you decide to try another cam.

If, at this point, you decide to switch to g*box- all will be well. The keys will be copied from SoftCam.Key to nagra (which will be created if it doesn't exist, or updated if it does already exist).

On the other hand, if you were to switch from mgcamd to evocamd, again- all would be well. BUT! Here's the little gem that kept me up till 3am this morning:

If evocamd finds a valid set of keys in SoftCam.Key - it doesn't bother creating it's own Keylist.txt file!!

The converse is true, too: If mgcamd finds a valid set of keys in Keylist.txt then it will use those, and not bother creating SoftCam.Key!

Now switch to g*box from either of these scenarios, and the keycopy routine is fubarred- we get a 62 byte nagra file, empty of keys, and FTA only...

The 'Fix':

Unrar the attached patch file and FTP it the /bin folder (NOT /var/bin) - overwriting the existing file of the same name, which is miniops

When you try it all over again, it will work properly, by using brute force to make these two lazy bone-idle cams create their own keyfiles properly, by deleting the 'other' one in the cam switching process!!

You'll know that the real file has been written, because there'll be a momentary picture freeze between 5 and 20 seconds after the new cam has started, then it'll clear.

Commando 9.25x2 had to downgrade my evocam to config.rar

Inserted into /bin miniops file....v2.1update_patch.rar

copied into /keys fresh copys of nagra 7,10 n 11 and its all sorted no more freeze

i have a sagem 2x box and i have the same problem with it freezing, ive tried blade quad image and just now i have andromeda on it, but nothing seems to help.

FTA channels work fine though :-(. any images recommended for jumpy boxes. i dont want to buy a signal booster till ive tried everything ( got no cash, )

commando is the one i like m8, works a treat even on my bro's sagem box evocam the 1 above with ucode 0014 all channels steady now.
no more feeze and commando 10 coming soon.........

cheers for the suggestion, running commando 9.25 x2 right now, froze after 50 mins with nagra 7 and 10 enabled with ucode 0014, trying ucode 001a just now which is stable for me on 2 other boxes, fingers crossed.

Did u downgrade your evocam with the 1 in this post?
sometimes newer aint better, gudluck man...
