    still freezing with ucode 001a not quite as bad though freezes only lasting 10seconds now instead of 10 minutes, i'll try downgrading evocam 2morrow (girlfriend is demanding use of the tv back) see if it reduces it even further.

      I just tried to downgrade evocam on commando, still the same results though, box is freezing / chirping quite bad after 10 - 50 mins, only thing that stops it is to switch box off then back on again.
      I then tried virgin lite image, for some reason I couldn't get anything apart from black screens ( tried ftp'ing all my current keys / roms to it ?? ). Now I'm trying pacino trilogy x2 with AU, been 20 mins and ok so far.
      Will changing the ucode selection affect freezing / chirping? I usually only use 0014 and 001a but I've seen a few posts about people using vortex on problem boxes but does it really make any difference?

        Cable TV Variable Attenuator search fleebay for 1 got 1 when my boxes were freezing but downgrading my cams sorted me gud luck m8,
        if thats no gud try a cheap booster if thats no gud then maybe sell your box as faulty and start with a new1.
        i didnt ftp /keys i just dl new roms from bigmaq and ftp em to var/keys.... some 1 told me " u only need 1 nutcracker to crack the nut so just try rom7"
