idiot guide to manuel keys

hi guys is there a idiot guide to changing the keys on the dbox 2 .

the last time all this trouble started i managed to fix it ol with help from someone on the site . i have the flash xp programme but not 100% on flashing again .

any help would be great thanks

O.K m8, connect with flashfxp.

go to var/keys

depending on what camd you are using.

If mgcamd go to softcam file
If evocamd go to keylist file

right click on the approriate file and edit, change the keys and thats it, either restart camd or restart box.

or instead of editing in flashfxp, ftp the file to your desktop and open it with notepad or wordpad and edit keys, then ftp back across overwriting the old one.

There is absolutely no reason to disable AU. It should be set to {02}.

If the keys roll it wont work no matter what you have it set at cos you will need to manually enter keys again until a fix comes along.

i have put the keys in with the remote but still no luck .

is there anything else i should be doing . what keys should i be putting in also .

there have been different keys from different people . anyone got the latest keys thanks

What camd are you using, evocamd, mgcamd or gbox. etc etc.

From what I have read elsewhere (may have been on here somewhere), tw codes may be wrong on keymaster. Unfortunately you will have to wait if they are. keep refreshing keymaster incase they change.

Just when I thought i'd learned about these Dbox's something new comes up..
I've ftp'd softcam file to laptop, edited with new keys and ftp'd it back to overwright the old file, restarted dbox and made no difference am I doing something wrong ?

now I look, I have 2 'SoftCam.Key files, one (the one I edited) of 288, the other 1. Should they both be there ?

The chances of it not working may be because he is using evocamd.

u edited the wrong file...
or
u put wrong keys in

make sure u get keys for your area...


if its C&W like me..i feel sorry for u..they always last to update...and still have not got todays roll ffs

Hi I am a newbie on here and really having read loads of posts I am really confused.

Dead simple question.

I bought a DB*x2 last week and it went down last night. Cable co is VM.

How do I get it going again?

If I have to input some new keys (whatever they are) can I do it via the remote control.

I tried to re scan it last night and that didn?t work.

Has anybody got a really simple guide. PLEASE

Something along the lines of

1. Press the Blue button on the remote control

2. ,etc????????????

I have no idea what a flash or a camd is.
