    Kein System and not Flashing.

Hello. I tried to flash my Sagem dbox2 for the 1st time using flash fxp, cross over and virgin image. sportster image was loaded previously. when i tried to flash using dbox it went into kein system. Now when i try and flash using ifa it stops after back up is complete and before flash begins. also when i'm using ifa its a bit different to the videos i've seen as i get block bars when the video shows a solid loading bar. ifa only lets me flash with 1+ images so i think these must be correct. I have all firewalls and anti virus switched off but still seem to be getting access problems.

any help on this matter would be great. Ta

IFA can be trying if you are using a crossover cable, best method is a null modem cable BUT it will work with a crossover cable but may take a few goes, if it doesnt work then try a different version of IFA.

I dont know if you have access to the download section or if you need a certain amount of posts but there are a few versions in the dbox section of downloads.

When you finish flashing the box and the dbox LCD shows smiling faces click "ENTER" button and IFA will close. just make sure that you click ENTER button at the end.

thats my problem it doesn't seem to start flashing. its like it freezes after its made a back up. the only option i get is cancel or copy to clipboard. which doesn't do anything. I dont know why but it always freezes at the same place.

                KIEN SYSTEM

USE IFA AND A NULL MODEM CABLE ALTHOUGH IT SAYS FLASH COMPLETE YOU REALLY HAVE TO WAIT FOR 3.4.5 MINUTES FOR IT TO COME UP ON SCREEN TO SAY ITS DONE YOU COULD TRY FLASHING WITHOUT NULL AND ALTHOUGH IT SAYS FLASH COMPLETE JUST WAIT FOR SAY FIVE MINUTES BEFORE RE-BOOTING

use and crossover and connect it to dbox to router then use normal cable and connect it to router to pc/laptop and start up ifa and 100% it should work!

would it be worthwhile buying a dull modem cable? i bought a 15m long crossover cable so I can keep my dbox set up downstairs when flashing. So i thinl i'd prob need another 15m long cable.

can i just check i plugged my crossover cable into a free port on my router and into the dbox. when i connect the crossover cable directly to my pc i can't make a connection. I'm getting abit confused with ip addresses also as every different way i find to try the ip adressedd are different. i'm currently using 192.168.1.110 on both but my dbox ip before was 192.168.254.200 and not sure if it has reset itself to that although it connects initially using the crossover cable.

this may seem a silly question but just double checking. do you mean completley diconnect router from modem?

Fabio I have had the same problem with my Dbox I don't speak German What I was told "Kien System" means dead system but don't warry about the meaning of the word as I have said did happen to my box because it was flashed by a wrong image I flashed it with x1image instead of x2image and did take long time before I get grap on the dbox to accept the image flashing just keep trying.

Regarding Nullmodem cable is only help with one thing is to see the flashing activities in you dbox on the PC/Laptop monitor it is helpfull in this way in an other hand you can flash your dbox without Nullmodem cable and after it says transfer or flashing was successful shouldn't any longer than one to two
minutes but waiting 3 minutes is recommended as long as you click enter button at the end. you have said that enter button is not active I don't know why all I can say to you is try to reboot your PC and start the process all over again and hope thi time will work, befor you do that just check your dbox if it is 2 or 1 chip and flash the correct image that corespond to the number of chips in your Dbox and good luck M8.

Thank you all. Ive managed to flash blade quatro as an image but not it says "waiting for time" on the epg. and my channels are all messed up with the adult channels down at 1-10 which isn't very handy. whats the best way to sort this? it also seemed slow when changing the channels is that down to the image?

Reflash with the right image this time it may take a few attempts before your Dbox accept the correct image.
